Editing of the groups chosen images by Annmarie

These are my edits from the pictures we all chose as a group last Thursday, we all felt as though these were the best choices and we chose on an editing style of a square crop, saturated, contrasted, and possible radial blur.

I feel like the last two of these images are stronger than the first as the first doesn't look as sharp or have the same intense look as the other two.

I struggled with these two images of Katy because the focusing isn't quite right on both images on the right hand side, although I think the second image is the stronger of the two.

I'm undecided about these two of Andy, I prefer the second as the eyes are sharper but it might not fit with the other images we're using as he's not looking straight at the camera.

These images of Grace are some of my favourites, the orange paint and the word Global I think really works for her. I like both images but I think the second one would fit more with the set.

These images are pretty much exactly the same but the word on the second image stands out more.

Again some of my other favourite images, I have had to choose these myself as we didn't have them with us to choose from on thursday but I think both images could fit in with the rest as she is looking at the camera, and I think the square crop works really well.

I'm not 100% on this photograph as it doesn't fit well with others as she isn't looking at the camera.

4/01/2011 Shoot

This are some examples of the shoot Chelsea, Ruth & Me did yesterday, we managed to get 6 models, and used 6 different words that we projected on to their faces, and we also gave each of them a different colour face paint.

None of these have yet been edited, but once they have I'll put some more examples up.

Editing Style by AnnMarie

Before we finished for Christmas, we had an editing session with Andy to help us decide what editing style we were going to use for our images and he told us to individually go away and choose and edit the photographs in the way that we like.

This is how I've edited the images, I've used both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4.
I've found with the images that I've always reverted back to the same styles Andy advised, as the whole point of the images is to look really bold and sharp, so bringing the contrast and the blacks out really work.
I've also tried a few different crops, some square crops which I like, and some more rectangle crops like the ones at the bottom, which I think would work if we end up placing text on the images for a more advertising feel.

Editing Style

Yesterday we talked to Andy about how to edit the images we had done, and how they'd work as a set.
This is the editing style he came up with, which we all really liked, because they are really punchy and stand out like we wanted them too, although he did raise a few issues with us about whether we made the right choice of words and the choice of clothing they wore.

The next step is for us all to go away throughout Christmas and choose which images we like the best and edit them how we would individually, and then put them together to decide which styles if any we like or whether we are going to take this route of editing that Andy has shown us.

This is a screen shot of how the first three images work together because they are all looking away from the camera rather than straight on.

14/12/210 Shoot

These are some examples of the images we took in the Studio in our first proper session, we had these 5 different models, we tried to choose a variety of people who looked different and we used a different colour and word for each model.
These are completely unedited.

These are the templates we used yesterday to project onto the models faces, we created these in photoshop and then opened them up in powerpoint as a slideshow so that the rest of the screen was black and wouldn't project anything else on to the models.
